Overview:

  • Understand application areas especially in techniques for sample processing, microscopic image capture and analysis with state of the art laser based fluorescent techniques, Fluorescent based Cell sorting and data analysis, mass spectrometry techniques etc are to name a few.
  • To gain expertise in operation, servicing and maintenance of all kinds of research instruments including sophisticated ones at a professional level.
  • Get familiarised in state of the art Research laboratory environments.

Syllabus:

  • Practical Electronics for Instrumentation systems.
  • Working principles, basic operation and application of various instruments such as pH Meters, Centrifuges, PCR Machines, Water Baths, CO2 Incubators, Shaking Incubators, Hot Air Ovens, Hybridization Ovens, Bio-Safety Hoods, Fume Hoods, Pipettes, Electronic Balances, Electrophoresis Apparatus etc.
  • Working principles, basic operation and application of instruments like Spectrophotometers, fluorescent microscopes, Gel Documentation Systems and extremely sophisticated installations including High Performance Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC), Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatographs (UPLC), TOF Mass Spectrometers, MS-MS Systems, Solid state sequencing platforms, Chip scanners, Multiphoton & Super Resolution Microscopes, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Liquid Nitrogen Plant, Automated Liquid handling systems etc.
  • Calibration, Validation, and certification of instruments like PCR’s, Ovens, Incubators, Volumetric Dispensers, Spectrophotometers, Electronic Balances using International Standards.
  • Documentation for Instrumentation systems and procurement procedures, design of various LABs, BSL etc.
